Jonathan K. Spivey, a native of Philadelphia, started piano lessons in the Baltimore City Public Schools. He is a graduate of the Overbrook High School Music Magnet Program and St. Augustine's College in Raleigh, with a degree in Music Education with Concentration in Piano. He has served as guest conductor for many Choral Festivals and Competitions. Presently he is the Choral Director of the Charlottesville High School. In addition he serves as Minister of Music at Mount Zion Baptist Church of Charlottesville.

In 1995 he was ordained by the church under the pastorate of the Rev. Alvin Edwards. Mr. Spivey serves on numerous boards and has won numerous music awards. He is married to the former Anita R. Darcus and has three sons: Latroy Durrette, Robert Austin and Randall Alexander. Most of all he LOVES the LORD and his people.
