Harmount's had a Summer Season (May or June through September or October), when they performed in a tent they traveled with, and a Winter Season (usually November through February or March), when they played in theaters in small towns in Ohio, Indiana and elsewhere in the midwest. Because Act 1, Scene 1, is the meeting of Eliza and George in the woods, this program, like the other two Harmount programs in the archive, was almost certainly for a Winter Season show. Here Tom is played by Clarence Harmount, the show's manager and son of the company's founder, Al Harmount. |
