14 June 1853 Uncle Tom's Cabin was received last evening with thunders of applause. The performance was highly creditable and witnessed by an appreciative audience. Little Eva—sweet creature—was called out at the end of the third act, and greeted with the most vociferous plaudits. It is the best performance we have seen for a long time. 16 June 1853 Uncle Tom In Albany: The visit of this colored individual to our goodly city has caused considerable excitement, and nightly he receives crowds of visitors at the Green Street Theatre. He's a real good old fellow, and has made scores of friends. 17 June 1853 Uncle Tom's Cabin is nightly repeated to large and delighted audiences at the Theatre. Little Eva is certainly one of the most pert, piquant and prodigious prodigies we have ever seen. Go and see it before it is done with. Saturday night is the last. 20 June 1853 Conner's Theatre: Re-engagement of "Little Eva." We are pleased to notice that a re-engagement for a few days has been affected with Mr. Howard's Corps who for the past week have brought out and rendered "Uncle Tom's Cabin" in so very commendable and praise-worthy a manner. Go and see it. 22 June 1853 Little Eva's Benefit: The benefit of this little prodigy comes off tonight when we hope to see one of the largest houses that ever yet assembled in the Theatre. Little Eva is a star of the largest calibre and we hope that her modest little call will be responded to with a large house. 24 June 1853 Tonight and tomorrow evening is to be the last of Uncle Tom's Cabin. We would advise all to go and see it who have not done so. |
