27 May 1854

George Christy and Woods' Minstrels.— For an hour's laugh, for a sure and certain cure for the blues, commend us to George Christy, and to the immortal burletta of "Uncle Tom's Cabin" at 444 Broadway.

3 June 1854

George Christy and Woods' Minstrels are doing an immense business. Houses full every evening, and people "refusing to be comforted because"—they couldn't get seats.

10 June 1854

The Minstrels are also doing a good business. Buckley's new Burlesque of "Sonnambula" is decidedly worth seeing, and those who are fond of good things had better avail themselves of the opportunity as soon as possible. Wood's and Christy's new opera burletta of "Uncle Tom's Cabin" contrives to pack the place every night with crowds of delighted people.

17 June 1854

The Minstrels are doing well, filling their pockets with cash, and the people with good humor. Buckley's "Sonnambula," and Wood's and Christy's "Uncle Tom," are rich pieces.
