PEOPLE IN GENERAL.

The records of the New York Free Circulating Library for February show that "Uncle Tom's Cabin" is the favorite work among its patrons. "Count of Monte Cristo" comes second, and Alger's "Tattered Tom" third. "Tattered Tom," by the way, had nearly twice as many readers as Aldrich's "Story of a Bad Boy."
