[From] News By the Mails

The Boston Traveller states that Mrs. H. B. Stowe received, a day or two since, from her publishers, Messrs. Jewett & Co., the sum of ten thousand three hundred dollars, as her copyright premium on three months' sales of "Uncle Tom's Cabin." We believe that this is the largest sum of money ever received by any author, either American or European, from the actual sales of a single work in so short a period of time.
