According to the woman who sold us this doll on EBay, it was originally
made for her and her sister in 1929 or 1930 by her mother, from a store-bought
"pattern which is long gone now." It's not known when this double-headed doll
first came into existence, though it was well before 1930, and patterns for
making it were sold until well after World War II (EXAMPLE 1 |

variations, though always seems to have been linked to Stowe's two
characters:
